Sebastian's work can be found in museums and private collections throughout North America, Europe and Japan. His wood carvings which include masks, bowls, bentboxes, rattles, talking sticks, rhythm canes, murals and totem poles of all sizes, have been widely exhibited. Some of his prints have appeared in art books. His finely crafted gold and silver jewelery is in great demand; graduation and birthday gifts, wedding rings and anniversary gifts have become a specialty.

Ron is from the Gitxsan and the Wet'suwet'en Nations. His name is Gwin Butsxw from the house of Spookw of the Lax Gibuu Clan.

Bentwood Boxes & Panel Chests

Celebrated world-wide for his exemplary representations of his Gitksan culture, Ron Sebastian has produced a myriad of pieces that can be appreciated for their authentic values. Wood is his favourite medium, and his wood carvings have demonstrated that his carvings are precisely what he wants to share with the world, and he has done so.

His most celebrated pieces include a large three piece mural at the department headquarters of the Department of Indian Affairs in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the president's and chancellor's chairs and mace/talking stick at the University of Northern British Columbia in Prince George, BC, and a talking stick presented by MacMillan Bloedel to Princess Diana. Also, a totem pole carved with his brother, Robert, was donated to the Montreal Expos during the festivities of the National Baseball League's All-Star Game in 1982, held in Montreal, Quebec (first time ever played outside of the continental USA).
